Montrail, they are the runners' shoe, it’s the shoe that many runners will buy five or six pair at a time. But this season the only thing that was new was their colors. So we did a color story with an edgy headline and copy that played off a popular show at the time. Montrail eventually was brought under the Columbia brand, which I think was a bad idea.

The first time I worked with Paul was in '98 at Wieden and Kennedy and I was glad to see that he was on staff at Razorfish when I started there a year ago. At Razorfish he worked on several Bing projects and made each one exceptional. One of which was a Halo Xbox campaign called A521. He had inherited it and it's fast turnaround from another team. In a short time he had found the unique voice we were looking for. He then developed the concept much further, drilling it down into a compelling and engaging social thread. Paul's great to work with. Funny, smart and always positive.
Andrew Reed
Global Creative Director at Cisco
Why We Like Working With Paul
I have had the great fortune of working with many talented creatives over the years, but Paul Mitchell stands out. He has such a smart, unique, often hilarious perspective that comes across in his work and in every interaction. Colleagues and clients alike eat it up, wanting more. Along with making for a fun, uplifting environment to work in, Paul’s supportive and empathetic nature makes him someone you will always want to have in your corner.
Marni Beardsley
Chief Production Officer at Swift Agency
Why We Like Working With This Dude
Paul’s writing chops are evident; just look at his agency and client pedigree, and his book. What you might not see, but which needs to be highlighted, is what an amazingly good guy Paul is. He’s humble, friendly, funny, collaborative, and a delight to work with. He’s a natural “people gather.” You want a guy like Paul on your team and on your side. He makes everyone happier and better.
Ed Herinck
Retired CEO of HMH Agency and EVP at broadhead
Why We Like Working With This Dude
When you put Paul on an assignment you are guaranteed two things:
1. He is going to push ideas into areas you didn’t expect
2. Those ideas will be the result of a tireless effort digging into every piece of research he can find. Paul is a pro through-and-through.
Walt Burns
Creative Director + Senior Writer + Brand Strategeur + PSIA Level III Telemark Instructor
Why We Like Working With This Dude
I worked with Paul at Y&R and was impressed with his intensity, insanity, energy and talent. I am now even more impressed with his love of life and art. A gifted writer brings life experience to the picture. Paul is so that- and besides, if he screws up he can always double for Robert Downey Jr. Any company would be lucky to have him on their team! He rocks!
Amy Belitsos
Executive Producer
Why We Like Working With This Dude
Paul Mitchell is a damn good copywriter! So much so that I can recall headlines that he wrote years ago. He’s quick-witted, well-read, up on current events and very fun to be in a group with.
Paul gave up a sweet apartment and a great gig in SF when he returned home to take care of his mother. To me, that’s the most important part of his story because it shows a true measure of anyone’s character.”
Lara Cattlin
Senior Copywriter | Co-Owner at Zanda Organics
Why We Like Working With This Dude
Paul is a joy to have as a coworker! He's got a creative mind and a quirky sense of humor that give him a unique perspective. He thrives in a collaborative environment where he can really flex his creativity and wit in his writing.
Ren Hom
Senior Copywriter
Why We Like Working With This Dude
As a project manager I can say that it was an absolute pleasure working with Paul! His work always sold, was always on schedule, and he’s as funny and as nice as they come. I always liked it when he was on my projects and requested him whenever I could. For a few years we worked right next to each other and he always made me laugh. Paul is a good guy, he gets it, and I would recommend him all day long.
Tara Bowers
Freelance Senior Project Manager
Why We Like Working With This Dude
Paul worked for and reported directly to me at Razorfish as a senior copywriter on various Fortune 500 accounts, including Microsoft, Levis, and Best Buy — brands that were making the awkward and sometimes messy transition to digital. The work included direct response campaigns; rich media; video and long-form content for Web and social. He was a key member of the creative team that helped triple the size of the Best Buy account in less than two years. In addition, he was a strong collaborator and presenter, and brought life to the office with his laugh-out-loud humor. Nobody has faster comebacks. He loves to work, lives to write, and clearly enjoys the business of creating. He will happily and persistently keep revving until he gets the idea, and then the words, just right. In the end, that's what really matters, and Paul always got there for me, usually quickly, because he gets it.
Paul Simón
Creative Director | Brand Builder | Writer
Why We Like Working With This Dude
I always enjoyed and looked forward to working with Paul. Clever, funny, smart and a great wordsmith. An artist at heart (you should see his photography) Paul understands the nuances that makes projects beautiful. From the littlest one-off projects to continuing long term projects, Paul always brought something unexpected. I hope to work with him again.
Michael Showell
Product/Experience/Interaction Designer
Why We Like Working With This Dude
Paul was excellent at helping me tag team Social Media streams at New Seasons Markets to make our daily customer communications seamless. He truly loves social and was excellent at it. He was always upbeat and friendly and we effortlessly divided and conquered duties when working on large copywriting and proofreading projects together.
Crystal Ligori
Audio Journalist / Voiceover Artist / Charismatic Host
Why We Like Working With This Dude
Paul and I were partners for 3 years together and I will say that Paul is the best collaborator and partner I have ever worked with. We stuck the landing whenever we concepted, flushed out and presented our work and wound up winning gold medal Addy's for our ad-agency clients in San Francisco and Reno. He's a pro.
